Halloween!

Zella was originally going to go as a bee because she has a favorite bee stuffed animal and her beloved bee backpack. We momentarily thought about sending her as a garden gnome, but then came across the Wonder Woman costume - she loves her Wonder Woman t-shirt and it all just seemed so fitting.

The wig is from a Halloween costume that Stephen wore years ago - yes, it was a mistake that I will never repeat! Anyways, we thought it would be fun and funny to let Zella try it on. She really liked it at first, but then it got a bit itchy and hot. So, as you can see further below, she didn't actually wear it out to go trick-or-treating. I think part of it was that she didn't want to feel encumbered in any way. If she could make a profession out of trick-or-treating, she would no doubt be at the top of her field. This girl has found her calling in life!

Trying on the wig at home. Notice the waist-high boots that are only supposed to go just over her knees.

At the G-spot (a friend's house in Hyde Park), she learns how to play the accordion from Drew (the accordion's name is Darren, for some reason).

Finally out trick-or-treating sans wig!

Professional Photo

We had some professional photos of Zella taken last month and just received the images. Here is the one we received as the promo. This is probably one of my favorites.

Late Summer & Early Fall Photos

Finally time for more pictures. Many of the pictures furthest below are from our trip to Costa Rica in August. What looks like mud and dirt is actually sand. And our girl always loves some sand!

Getting the hang of a big-girl swing.

Poppy's shoes!

Weekend with Papa & Nana D.

Hanging out with Nana D.

You have to understand - it was a long day.

ok, Daddy, I'll take the camera now...

Yep, just sittin' here with sand all over my face. Just another ordinary day in paradise.

Let's crack this thing open!

Easing out into the water.

Messy, messy.

Summer Photos

More photos are finally here! I messed up and started posting them in the reverse order from the way I usually (I think) do it - so, the most recent photos are first.

Zella has definitely been a busy girl - or keeping us busy, at least. We have been able to enjoy a lot of time in the pool this summer and, thanks to her friends, Emma & Natalie, she has also been enjoying her frog sandbox. Seriously, our girl LOVES sand. I'm hoping that it's pushing her one more step closer to becoming a marine biologist.

These first few pictures were taken with a couple of new iPhone apps, which are definitely my new favorite toy. Shout out to Jesse Bloede for turning me on to Hipstamatic to get that old photo look on some of these - the first of which is probably my favorite. The others, taken from this past weekend while we were in the backyard, were taken with another app that allows you to adjust the colors, saturation, blurriness, & vignette-look - I'm still getting the hang of that one.

Enjoy!

taken with the new iPhone app -I think I was making her nervous or annoyed with the number of pictures being 'snapped' that afternoon

I love sand...

Ah, an afternoon alone with my favorite thing - sand!

Let's see... should I make another sand mold of Pooh bear or just pour more sand all over me? Yeah, I'll just pour more sand all over me.

Anxious to get in the pool.

poor bunny... our dog, Lucy, knows exactly how this rabbit feels...

just one more kiss...

Giddy up! (our dog, Emmy, knows exactly how this donkey feels)

If not a marine biologist, a veterinarian would be okay too...

I can't remember who the sucker was who decided to hand the child their bracelets. Um, yeah... she's not giving those back without a fight.

My friends, Emma & Natalie - the two most fun people on Earth!

Yes, Daddy, I hear you - I will not run around the jagged rocks anymore! Ha ha ha ha...

Working in the yard...

Umm... sand is not only fun, it's yummy!

This thing is a no-go. Totally uncomfortable and, let's be honest... I look ridiculous!

At lunch with Nana K & Pops at The Oasis. My frosty beverage should be here any second...

Yee-haw! On the swings at a park near Nana D's and Papa's house in Little Rock.

Vroom, vroom...

Wooo!

Me and Carl on the flight out to Little Rock to see Nana D & Papa.

Spaghetti!

Not too sure about this dress at her daycare's International Festival day. She loves to dress up, but this just wasn't doing it for her, for some reason.
