Video! Take 4...

Ok - Blogger didn't work again; now trying YouTube (not the private setting, though).

fingers crossed....

Now, sit back and enjoy the pure genius that is our child rolling over... (oh... and Denny is trying to teach her to say 'uh-oh' at the same time; thus, the running commentary)

Zella turns 3 months!

Zella turned 3 months old this past Thursday. She's 12 pounds now and getting to be such a big girl. We're having a lot of fun with her and she loves to laugh now (yes, she cries too). Her newest trick, as of yesterday morning, is rolling from her stomach to her back - we think it's the greatest thing any human has ever accomplished. The dogs aren't impressed - they say we should let them know when she can shake, sit, and speak on command.

We took Zella on her first road trip to see Nana K and Pops in Kemah. She was a trooper - the car ride is just a little too long to make it all the way between meals, but she hung in there as best as she could. She did great at their house and we had a lot of fun.

We have a few videos now, but I can not get them to upload to Blogger (if you have any tips, feel free to email me). Enjoy the pictures!

Just chilling out - looking beautiful.

Hanging out with Pops.

Laughing at breakfast.

What else you got?

Finally... a photo with Daddy.

Nana K holding me and keeping me happy.

One last chat with Pops & Nana before hitting the road.

Celebrating Aunt Michelle's birthday at Shady Grove (just minutes before my meltdown - after all, I had just had a big weekend with Nana & Pops and was a little worn out from the great weekend).

My first ride in my new Bumbo seat. I can finally sit up and look around. I think my left sock is about to fall off. Oh well, it's all good.

Another go around in the Bumbo.

Tummy time! Notice how high I can hold my head up. This is right before I turned myself over. Pretty cool...

8 Weeks Old

Well, we have clearly been delinquent on posting new photos.  Zella turned 8 weeks old on Friday, so it's time to get some recent photos posted to the blog.  I weighed her on Friday and she is now at 10lbs., 2oz (looks like she is tracking between the 25th & 50th percentile, for those keeping score - but we'll know more after the 2 month pediatrician visit this week).  All is well, for the most part.  She has shown some signs of acid reflux, but the gripe water seems to help and we are investigating probiotics for babies (read about how great it is for colic, although we don't think she actually qualifies as having it).  She is smiling and almost laughing (well, laughing in her on way, which is basically a squeal) much more often now.  She definitely smiles almost every time she sees me & Denny, so that is, of course, just the best thing ever.  She is looking around a whole lot now and seems to have pretty good head control.  She is great when we go for walks and out to restaurants.  She's holding steady at about 4-5 hour sleep cycles at night, so we'd love to that increase soon, but know we can't complain too much.  That's about it for now.  Enjoy the pictures.

Aunt Erin holding me at my Sip & See last weekend.  Doesn't she look so pretty?

My proud Poppy holding me at the party.  Doesn't he look so handsome?

This is my neighbors' mom, Jen, holding me.  You can't see her very well, but she looked very pretty too.

Just hanging out.  I think Aunt Michelle is holding me here.  She was looking pretty too.  Everyone looked so nice at my party!

Just chillin'.

I think I look especially cute here.

And this is a good one of me too.  Oh, props go out to Sara 'Jenny' Fox for some fantastic photos of the party.

mmm... cupcakes!  Aunt Lisa ordered these and then handmade all of the 'zella' and 'Z' decorations.  They looked (and tasted) amazing!  She must love me very much to put all that effort into those cupcakes.  My daddies would not let me have one, but one day...

One last cute one of me from the party.

Hanging out in the living room watching the fan (until Daddy distracted me with the camera).

Just chillaxin' on my daddies' bed while he gets ready to go somewhere.  Dang these boys take a long time to get ready.

mmm... good nap...

Seriously... how long can it take a man to get ready???   What... have I been asleep for like an hour now?

Ready to head out for my first day of 'school.'  Tia Mandy gave me my 'Te Amo' onesie featuring un gato (my hand is blocking the cat, so it's hard to see in this picture).  School was really good for me, but difficult for my Daddy to drop me off.  Now that he has seen how good they all are to me there and how well I do, he's feeling a lot better.  He just misses his time with me and hates that he has to go to work at all this semester.  (did I say all that correctly, Daddy?)

I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille

Some close up photos of our beautiful child.

One Month - Man, time flies...

One month & counting! Everything has been good here, except she has started to seem a little colicky the last couple of days (basically, a few hours of screaming each night without an obvious reason). We are going to try a few remedies to see if that helps. Still eating & growing, though.
My Ed Psych colleagues through a really nice shower for us this week. It was really nice and Zella was a champ, just hanging out in her car seat and studying the pretty decorations.
She had her first outing to Chuy's this past week with the Roche family and there are sure to be many more visits there over the years.

Daddy feeding me. I'm naked (except for the diaper), which probably means that I had fallen asleep at the bottle and Daddy was trying to wake me up to finish my meal.

That ceiling fan is awesome!

Yep, still checking out the ceiling fan.

Pappa trying to distract me from the ceiling fan. Not gonna work...

Pappa giving me a little water to keep my hydrated during these dry winter days.

Just chillin' at my Ed Psych shower.

3 Weeks Old & Ready for a New Year!

Happy New Year!!! Well, Zella turned 3 weeks old last Friday and is still going strong. Still eating, pooping, & sleeping like a champ. Here are a few pics from the last week....

I love this outfit from Emma & Natalie. I know it looks like my eyes were closed, but I was actually doing a little disco dance in my crib.

Happy in my vibrating chair. I think I just tooted.

Yeah, I definitely tooted.

This outfit makes me think of spring even in the blah of winter.

Papa feeding me. Lucy & Gypsy were hanging out nearby.

Daddy surprised me with the camera this morning. Not fair - haven't even had time to fix my hair!

Zella's First Christmas

Well, Zella had a good second week of life (as far as we can tell) and a fun Christmas.  Denny's parents, Nana D & Grandpapa, came to visit on Tuesday and headed out this morning.

She also had her 2-week well-visit with her pediatrician yesterday (Friday) and that went great.  She's been gaining weight (yea!) and now tips the scales at 7lbs., 10oz. (5 oz. above her birth weight).  She grew a 1/2 inch and measures at 18.5 inches.  Her head also grew a whole centimeter!  Apparently, this is a good amount.  :-)

Here are some pictures from the past week...

Aunt Michelle stopped by just to hold me (and bring me some cute Christmas bibs).

Emma, Natalie, & Aunt Michelle just can't get enough of me!  Emma & Natalie brought me a monkey teether.  They know how much I love monkeys!

Nana D loved holding me and feeding me this week.

Tummy Time!  Aunt Laurie, Uncle Mike, Harrison, & Sophie sent me so many great gifts.  This was the first one my daddies opened for me.  They want me to get my exercises in every day.

Yo!  Whatup?  Christmas, boyeee!  Wicka, wicka, wicka...

Ok... I'll try to strike a good pose for this one.  Don't you love my Christmas dress?  This is from Aunts Jenny & Tracy down in Houston (proud mamas of Sophia & Cooper).  You can also see my very first Christmas ornament above my head, from Aunt Jen, Uncle RJ, Sophia, & Phoebe.  (Now how many aunts and uncles do I have, exactly?)

You people exhaust me!

Grandpapa holds me while Papa works in the yard.

Grandpapa & Nana D hold me this morning one more time before they head out.
